Part One of Three: The Current State of DEI Initiatives and HR/Employment Law Updates Post Rulings

In this session, nonprofit executive directors and board chairs will gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and Human Resources (HR) practices in the nonprofit sector following recent US Supreme Court decisions. Participants will explore how these decisions affect employment law, DEI programs, and HR strategies.

About the Speaker

Chanta Howard Wilkinson, JD, founded Chanta Wilkinson Consulting, LLC, where she provides diversity, equity, and inclusion, human resources, and nonprofit board governance consulting and assistance to organizations implementing strategies and best practices. She previously served as a Human Resources Consultant for small to mid-size businesses in Delaware and New York City. Prior to that, she served as the Associate Director of EEO/Affirmative Action (AA) for Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. In addition, she also served as a Deputy Attorney General and an EEO/AA Coordinator for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.  Chanta has experience presenting sexual harassment & anti-discrimination/anti-harassment trainings, drafting employee handbooks & workplace policies, mediating employee workplace disputes, providing guidance on reasonable accommodations & FMLA requests, and conducting workplace investigations.

She holds a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, a BA from Rutgers College, and a Diversity & Inclusion for HR Certificate from Cornell University. Chanta serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations across Delaware and resides in Lewes with her family.
