Money and Mission: Accounting Standards for Nonprofits

Thursday, June 22, 2023 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

The important, charitable work of nonprofits is made possible through funds from the general public. To help regulate activities and encourage the proper use of these funds, accounting standards are in place. These standards assist management and auditors when preparing financial statements and ensure the organization’s operations are compliant and protected by strong internal controls. This workshop will cover three primary areas:

  • Overview of accounting policies
  • Standard financial reporting
  • Identification and implementation of internal controls

As a result of this workshop, you will:

  • Gain a better understanding of accounting standards unique to nonprofits
  • Learn how to report your financial results to promote compliance and comprehension
  • Understand the need for strong internal controls and learn strategies to effectively implement them in your organization.
